Mount Vesuvius, Italy

Mount Vesuvius is a volcano east of Naples, Italy. This is the only volcano in mainland Europe that has erupted in the last hundred years, although it is not currently erupting. Famous for the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD that led to the destruction of the Roman cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum. This mountain has erupted several times since then and is now considered one of the most dangerous volcanoes in the world. Mount Vesuvius is one candidate version of the natural beauty of the wonders of the world.
