Panama Canal is 77 km (48 miles) ship canal in Panama, between the Atlantic and Pacific is an important channel for international maritime commerce. Built 1904-1914, annual traffic increased from about 1,000 ships in the canal’s early days to the 14 702 vessels in 2008, measures the total 309 600 000 Panama Canal / Universal Measurement System ton.
